ในรายงานประจำปี 2015 AFA ได้มุ่งเน้นการสนับสนุนการพัฒนาและปรับปรุงของวิชาชีพบัญชีในภูมิภาคอาเซียน นอกจากนี้ ในปี 2015 ยังได้ริเริ่มโครงการ AFA Task Forces โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อยกระดับการพัฒนาความสามารถขององค์กรวิชาชีพบัญชีในอาเซียนให้เทียบเท่ากันและส่งเสริมขีดความสามารถของนักบัญชีวิชาชีพของอาเซียน

AFA เป็นองค์กรวิชาชีพบัญชีของอาเซียน ซึ่งมีสมาชิกหลักเป็นองค์กรวิชาชีพบัญชีจากประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน ทั้ง 10 ประเทศ ได้แก่
- ประเทศบรูไน – The Brunei Darussalam Institute of Certified Public Accountants (BICPA)
- ประเทศกัมพูชา – Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA)
- ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย – Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (IAI)
